17/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The EU Delegation in Ukraine announced on Monday 16 March new aid for the East of Ukraine totalling €5.2 million. Of these funds, €3.2 million will go to the OSCE Special Observation Mission and will bring the EU’s financial commitment to this mission to €52 million. One million euros will be devoted to help protect civilians in the East of Ukraine, with support for the implementation of the Ukrainian strategy for the protection of civilians, once adopted. The EU will also finance the reconstruction of a modern administrative services centre in Stanytsia Luhanska. Finally, the remaining million will be used to support the resilience of the Sea of Azov region. (CG)
