17/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – Finance Ministers from the euro area did not come to a decision on Monday 16 March regarding easing Greece's primary budget surplus requirements (excluding debt servicing), which are currently set at +3.5% of Greek GDP. Noting that Athens had exceeded this target for the fifth year in a row (+4% of GDP in 2019), the President of the Eurogroup, Mário Centeno, indicated that Greece would benefit from all the flexibility provided for under the Stability and Growth Pact in order that they can deal with the Coronavirus pandemic from a health and economic point of view (see EUROPE 12448/2).
