18/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 18 February, the coordinators of the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs decided to postpone the vote on the draft Lalucq report on the socio-economic policies that Member States are invited to pursue as part of the ‘European Semester’ 2020 budget process until Tuesday 3 March. On this issue, the positions seem very clear-cut between, on the one hand, those in favour of redirecting the process to take into account the European Green Deal and, on the other, those who fear that budgetary discipline will be called into question (see EUROPE 12427/12). Despite this postponement of the vote, the objective is still to adopt Parliament's position at the March plenary session, in time for the Spring European Summit. (MB)
