18/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 18 February, the European Commission approved the acquisition of joint control of the Guernsey-based Condor Group by UK-based Columbia Threadneedle Investments (CTI) and France-based Brittany Ferries (BF). Condor operates passenger and freight ferry services between the Channel Islands and the United Kingdom and between the Channel Islands and France. CTI is a global asset manager and the asset management division of Ameriprise Financial Inc., a U.S.-based financial services provider. BF operates passenger and freight ferry services between France and the United Kingdom, France and Ireland, the United Kingdom and Spain, and Ireland and Spain. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise any competition concerns. (LC)
