03/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – Appointed by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Olli Ruutu is, since 1 February and the departure of Jorge Domecq, the interim Chief Executive of the Europe Defence Agency (EDA). His term as Chief Executive Officer will continue until a new head is appointed. According to a European source, the selection process is still ongoing. The High Representative, who is also the head of the Agency, will have to provide his recommendation to the Steering Board of the European Defence Agency, which will then take the decision. Mr Ruutu has been Deputy Executive Director of the Agency since March 2018. (CG)
