03/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Union expects the interim Bolivian government to take “all necessary measures to (...) ensure respect for the Rule of law”, said the spokesman for the Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on Saturday 1 February. This was in response to the incident involving two former Ministers, César Navarro and Pedro Damián Dorado López, when Evo Morales was president. They had for a time been arrested by the authorities provisionally in place while on their way to Mexico in possession of safe-conducts. At the request of the Bolivian authorities, the EU will observe the forthcoming presidential elections (see EUROPE 12379/23). (MB)
