03/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – The first two initiatives of the European Commission to respond to the climate and ecological crisis by implementing the European Green Deal are imminent and will follow within one month of each other. According to the provisional timetable of the College of Commissioners, the climate law proposal, which aims to incorporate the EU's climate neutrality objective by 2050 into European law, is expected on 26 February (see EUROPE 12413/7). The proposal for an EU biodiversity strategy for 2030 is scheduled for 31 March, according to the same timetable (see EUROPE 12405/4). (AN)
