European banking sector remains well capitalised, according to European Banking Authority

The average ratio of high quality own funds (CET1) to total assets held by the European banking sector increased slightly from 14.3% at the end of June 2018 to 14.4% at the end of June 2019 (period where the rules arising from the Basel III agreement are fully applicable), the European Banking Authority said on Friday 29 November, when it published its 2019 transparency exercise.
