04/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – Atos, the telecommunications group from which the former CEO and French candidate for the post of Internal Market Commissioner, Thierry Breton, has just resigned, has hosted partial and illegal copies of police data stored in the Schengen Information System (SIS) on behalf of the United Kingdom, reported the EuObserver information site on Monday 4 November. In May 2018, the online information site had already revealed that the British government was illegally making copies of data from the SIS system to which the country, although not located in the Schengen area, has had access since 2015. These copies are hosted by various private companies including Atos, EuObserver continues, a situation that raises the question of the transmission of this data to third parties. On Monday 4 November, the Commission indicated that it had to look at the facts in order to be able to react. (SP)
