04/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – Officially launched on Monday 4 November with a first meeting, the new Wine Market Observatory will allow this key sector of European agriculture to benefit from short-term analyses and greater transparency on prices, production and trade. The EU is the world's largest wine producer, with 65% of global production and 70% of exports. The Observatory will cover red, white and rosé wines. A Management Board composed of market experts will meet regularly, along the same lines as the other existing Observatories for the milk, meat, cereals, fruit and vegetables and sugar sectors. (LC)
