29/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – While the directive on work-life balance is being transposed (see EUROPE 12179/2), the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) published a lengthy study (over 80 pages) on the content of social partner agreements in 10 Member States (Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden) on Tuesday, 29 October. According to the study, Member States are not in the same boat. Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden are the countries where social conventions most take into account the issue of work-life balance, whereas Cyprus, Lithuania, Poland, and Ireland perform the worst in this area.
