29/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – The most notable event at the Digital Summit in Dortmund on Tuesday, 29 October was the impressive fall taken by Peter Altmaier, the German Minister of Economic Affairs. According to the German agency DPA, the 61-year-old minister missed a step and is now suffering from a broken nose and an open head wound. "Nothing more serious than that, it would seem”, he said on Twitter in the late afternoon. Before the fall, the Minister had presented a project close to his heart, Operation Gaia-X, a European cloud services project. The aim of the service is to create a network of hundreds of cloud service providers in order to increase their storage capacity and regain independence from US companies. This initiative was described as “interesting” by Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager. (SPj)
