24/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission welcomes the results of its i-Portunus pilot project on the mobility of artists and cultural professionals. In a press release issued on 24 October, echoing a conference held earlier in the month, the Commission highlighted the fact that this programme had funded 343 artists and cultural professionals working in the visual or performing arts from 36 countries. With a budget of 1 million euros in 2019, the pilot project started in January this year and is scheduled to run until February 2020, at which time an assessment and recommendations will be presented. In 2020, the Commission will invest an additional 1.5 million euros in two similar experiments. Depending on the result, they could be extended under the next Europe Creative 2021-2027 programme.
