24/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – A new study, commissioned by the European Commission and published on Thursday 24 October, confirms the benefits that producer organisations and associations of producer organisations offer to EU farmers. These organisations help to strengthen the position of farmers in the food supply chain while providing technical assistance to their members, confirms the study on producer organisations. By mid-2017, there were 3,505 producer organisations and associations of producer organisations (APOs) recognised at EU level. France, Germany and Spain are the three Member States with the highest number of recognised organisations (60% of the total at EU level). More than 50% of the recognized entities belong to the fruit and vegetable sector. To consult the study: http://bit.ly/33T4H3Y (LC)
