17/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Finnish Presidency of the Council of the EU emphasises vocational training during its term of office. It will organise a policy debate on a strategic approach to lifelong learning and submit conclusions on the International Labour Organisation's declaration on the future of work to the Employment Council on 24 October. The Education Council on 8 November is expected to adopt conclusions on the essential role of lifelong learning policies in empowering societies to cope with technological and green transition, and will hold a policy debate on artificial intelligence in education and training. This was stated by Riikka-Maria Turkia, on behalf of the Finnish Presidency, on 15 October at an event organised by the ACCA accountancy organisation, BSA software publishers, the consulting firm PwC and the European International Movement.
