Rejection of Commissioners-designate Plumb and Trócsányi candidatures confirmed

The European Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs confirmed on Monday 30 September its previous decision that Romania's Rovana Plumb and Hungary's László Trócsányi were unsuitable as European Commissioners (see EUROPE B12336A2).

Fewer than last week, MEPs held a new vote for each candidate. In both cases, they confirmed that Mrs Plumb and Mr Trócsányi were unfit to sit on the ,'von der Leyen' Commission because of conflicts of interest detected.
