30/09/2019 (Agence Europe) – The new German Minister of Justice, Christine Lambrecht, and her French counterpart, Nicole Belloubet, met Eurojust President Ladislav Hamran in The Hague on Monday 30 September to discuss ways to optimise judicial cooperation at bilateral and European level. The two ministers also took the opportunity to reaffirm their full support for the EU judicial agency and its activities. Discussions focused on the key role of Germany and France in successfully combating serious crime in Europe, notably drug trafficking, migrant smuggling, trafficking in human beings, terrorism, cybercrime and various types of fraud, Eurojust said in a statement. Nicole Belloubet also welcomed the recent creation of the Judicial Counter-Terrorism Register within Eurojust (see EUROPE 12321/6), initiated in particular by France and Germany. (MF)
