Thursday 4 July
Helsinki. Council of the EU. Informal Meeting of Ministers for Competitiveness (and 05/07). The debates will focus on sustainable growth and improving European competitiveness, taking into account the challenges of digitisation, increased international competition and climate change requiring the use of new clean technologies. *Research: the ministerial debates will focus on Research and Innovation Policy and Horizon Europe, the next Research and Innovation Framework Programme following EUROPE 2020. Themes of the debates: "Research and innovation as vectors for sustainable growth", "Translating European excellence in knowledge and innovation into entrepreneurial success" and "Missions as a strategic tool in Horizon Europe".
Helsinki. European Commission. Visit of the College of Commissioners to Finland (and 05/07). The College will meet Prime Minister Antti Rinne for an informal dinner on the occasion of the beginning of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Constitutive session of the Parliament. - debate with the current Presidents of the Commission and the European Council on the outcome of the European Council of 30/06, which is to appoint the Presidents of the institutions (Commission, European Council, European Parliament, European Central Bank and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy).
Luxembourg. * Court of Justice of the EU. #Rulings: C-622/17 (Baltic Media Alliance - compliance with EU law of the obligation, adopted by the Member State receiving a television channel from another Member State for operators providing channel packages to consumers in the first State, to broadcast or retransmit the channel in question only in paid TV packages or at an additional price).

Informal Meeting of Ministers for Competitiveness. *Internal Market and Industry: - Debates on the future of the internal market, industry and the low-carbon economy on the theme "Sustainable growth: integration of the internal market, dynamic digital economy and modern industrial policy".
