07/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The former European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, László Andor, took up his duties as Secretary General of the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) on 3 June. He succeeds Ernst Stetter, who has been in office since its creation in 2008 and is now responsible for management and operational management. Mr Andor was unanimously appointed by the FEPS Bureau. The President of the Foundation, Maria Joao Rodrigues, stressed that their two profiles will make it possible to “address the coming challenges […] in order to offer new progressive narratives to the social-democrat family and leverage in-depth experience with all European institutions”. FEPS operates an intellectual crossroads between social democracy and the European project, with nearly 50 political foundations and member think tanks across Europe. (MM, intern)
