07/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The ‘Telecommunications’ Council ultimately did not adopt the decision on the position to be taken, on behalf of the EU, at the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19). The problem does not come from a difference of opinion (this confidential text has already received the support of the Member States' ambassadors without too many problems), but from a procedural problem. There were not enough ministers present at the ‘Telecommunications’ Council to officially endorse this text. According to our information, only six ministers had travelled to Luxembourg, which is not enough to adopt the text. It will therefore be on the agenda of the Employment and Social Affairs Council on 13 June. (SPj)
