07/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – At the Telecommunications Council in Luxembourg on 7 June, Mariya Gabriel explained to EUROPE the reasons why she would give up her seat in the next European Parliament. She gave two reasons: "I like to finalise what I started and I never give up along the way," she said, stressing that the Juncker Commission is supposed to be in office until 1 November. The second reason, expressed in half a word, suggests that the Bulgarian will indeed be seeking a new Commissioner's position. "It is important that Bulgaria does not lose its voice in the Commission. We had it when we held the Presidency (of the Council of the EU)”. She confided in EUROPE that she wants to make “her contribution” in the future so that Bulgaria has a voice in these matters. (SPj)
