08/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – Member States had until 6 May to submit their applications to host the seat of the future European Labour Authority (see EUROPE 12194/1). Four cities are officially candidates: Nicosia (Cyprus), Sofia (Bulgaria), Riga (Latvia) and Bratislava (Slovakia). Croatia, Romania, and even Italy, did not submit an application in the end. It is now up to the European Commission to analyse the applications in light of the criteria defined by the Member States (see EUROPE 12214/33). It will submit its analysis on 2 June. Member States will decide definitively on where the seat shall be on 13 June at the Employment and Social Policy Council. (PH)
