First conclusive assessment of pilot project to assist regions and Member States in industrial transition

08/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 May, the European Commission presented the first results of its pilot projects to support ten regions and two Member States engaged in a phase of industrial transition (see EUROPE 11976/29). The results would be conclusive, the Commission estimated, recalling that these territories are set to receive European aid of around €90 billion under the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework. The regions concerned are Cantabria (Spain), the French regions of Centre-Val de Loire, les-Hauts-de-France (France), Grand Est, North-East Finland, Greater Manchester, North-Central Sweden, Piemonte (Italy), Saxony (Germany), Wallonia (Belgium), Lithuania and Slovenia.
