16/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – In the run-up to the European elections, the European Commission launched a new awareness campaign on 16 April to raise awareness about online violence against women, entitled #DigitalRespect4Her. "We would like to see women and men actively engaged in saying no to online violence and promoting digital respect", said Digital Economy Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, alongside her gender equality counterpart, Věra Jourová, and European Parliament President Antonio Tajani. She announced her intention to engage in discussions with stakeholders, including the main online platforms, to find solutions. According to the Commission's figures, women are 27 times more likely to be harassed online around the world. See: https://bit.ly/2UCRQ5L (SPj)
