The competent ministers are meeting in Bucharest on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 April for an informal meeting on post-2020 cohesion policy.
They will discuss investment priorities under the next cohesion policy and how this policy will be linked to the strategic agenda of the Heads of State and Government for the 2019-2024 period. Negotiations on the various legislative acts will also be discussed, in particular the Regulation laying down common provisions.
Ministers will certainly be invited to discuss the thorny issue of programming cohesion policy funds, following the EU Council's refusal to continue negotiations with the European Parliament on Block 1 on programming and the strategic approach, postponing negotiations with the new Parliament (see EUROPE 12212/15) to a distant date.
