08/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, announced that the EU was ready for the end of the United Kingdom's participation in the Union's civilian and military missions and operations. “We are ready to manage the transition - if and when it takes place - in a way that will in no way affect the effectiveness of our missions and operations”, she explained at the end of the Foreign Affairs Council on Monday 8 April in Luxembourg. She recalled that the United Kingdom's commitment to EU missions was “extremely limited” something like “more or less 5%”, and that it was now “almost completely, if not completely” reduced. “It's a matter of days”, she added. The EU currently has 16 missions in progress: 6 military and 10 civilian. (CG)
