08/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – The meeting of the G7 Foreign Ministers on 5 and 6 April in Dinard and Saint-Malo, France, resulted in the adoption of a declaration on cybersecurity that calls for better cooperation between states. “This declaration creates a mechanism for self-regulation and the sharing of best practices to ensure that cyberspace is an open, free, stable and secure environment|, commented French Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, whose country holds the presidency of the G7, at a press conference reported by Reuters. The text, known as the “Dinard Declaration on the Cyberspace Standards Initiative”, sets four objectives: - to encourage improved and increased voluntary information exchange among ourselves and with others; - to share good practices with a wide range of States; - to engage with other States; - to cooperate in the implementation of these standards.
