08/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – The spokeswoman of the European External Action Service denounced, on Saturday 6 April, the revocation of the visa for entry into the United States of Mrs Fatou Bensouda, prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Ms Bensouda was to visit the country to investigate possible war crimes committed by the US army and its allies in Afghanistan (see EUROPE 12216/23). “The EU reiterates its deep concern about US policy towards the ICC”, she stressed in a statement, warning that the EU expected the United States to “ensure that any measures adopted by the US in relation to the ICC is in full compliance with their international obligations, having also due regard to the ICC-UN Relationship Agreement”. The spokesperson called on all countries to provide the necessary assistance and support to the Court. (CG)
