03/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Industry, Research and Energy Committee (ITRE) held its last meeting under the mandate of the European Parliament 2014-2020 on Tuesday 2 April. On this occasion, Committee Chairman Jerzy Buzek (EPP, Poland) took stock of the Committee's work over the past 5 years. The Committee held 78 meetings, considered 64 legislative acts, 19 delegated acts, 24 own-initiative reports and 6 oral questions with resolutions. The committee followed up on more than 100 inter-institutional meetings (trilogues). Jerzy Buzek, former President of the European Parliament, is also standing for re-election to the European Parliament. Head of the list for Civic Platform in Silesia, his chances of re-election are therefore very high. (PH)
