27/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – In a statement published on Tuesday 26 March, Transport & Environment (T&E) welcomed the green light given by MEPs, who were meeting in plenary session on the same day, to the interinstitutional agreement (see EUROPE 12222/9) reached between representatives of the European Parliament and the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 12 February on the time limit for the implementation of the special rules regarding maximum length in case of cabs (see EUROPE 12192/26). “This reform is a win-win for industry and the public. The truck of the future will be sleeker, reducing fuel bills and emissions. It will also be safer through better driver vision of cyclists and pedestrians in particular”, said James Nix, freight manager at the organisation. (LT)
