EU denounces the arrest of Mr Guaidó's private secretary by SEBIN

22/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson for the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini, denounced, on Thursday 21 March, the arrest of Mr Roberto Marrero, the private secretary of the self-proclaimed Venezuelan President, Juan Guaidó, and the attempted intimidation of Mr Sergio Vergara, who was elected to the National Assembly, despite the parliamentary immunity he enjoys. The European Parliament, which has already called for Nicolás Maduro's to step down, will adopt a new resolution on Wednesday 27 March regarding the continuing political and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela (see other news). (MB)
