08/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU will seek approval from the Committee of Permanent Representatives on Wednesday 13 March on the draft regulation establishing a European centre of competence and a network of national coordination centres. This text aims to pool and share cybersecurity research capacities and results and to deploy innovative cybersecurity solutions (see EUROPE 12095/18). The most controversial issues for the Council of the EU concern the voting rights of the European Commission, the seat of the competence centre, synergies between the civil and military fields and the legal status of the national coordination centres (see EUROPE 12204/1). The Parliamentary Committee on Industry adopted its position on 19 February (see EUROPE 12197/6). (SPj)
