A projection by European Parliament shows that EPP and S&D groups would no longer be in the majority in next Chamber

The first picture of the seats of the next European Parliament, unveiled on Monday 18 February, shows that the two main political groups, the EPP and the S&D, are said to hold less than 50% (45%) of the total number of seats in the Assembly, compared to 55% currently. 

Thus, in order to obtain a majority, these large traditional groups would have to ally themselves with other political groups in the Chamber.
