The first picture of the seats of the next European Parliament, unveiled on Monday 18 February, shows that the two main political groups, the EPP and the S&D, are said to hold less than 50% (45%) of the total number of seats in the Assembly, compared to 55% currently.
Thus, in order to obtain a majority, these large traditional groups would have to ally themselves with other political groups in the Chamber.
