European Parliament confirms its position on revision of ‘Motor Insurance’ Directive

On Wednesday 13 February, the European Parliament adopted, without amendment, the proposal for a directive to strengthen compensation for road accident victims in a cross-border context (see EUROPE 12177). 

Dita Charanzová (ALDE, Czech Republic), rapporteur on this issue, once again welcomed "the right balance between greater protection for road accident victims and preventing absurd over-regulation".
