Member States are trying to launch negotiations with European Parliament on amendments to Gas Directive

The Committee of Permanent Representatives in the EU (Coreper) will seek, on 8 February, to agree on a mandate to launch negotiations with the European Parliament on the proposal amending Directive 2009/73/EC concerning common rules for the internal market in natural gas. 

Already in mid-January, Member States had considered a compromise text on this dossier.
