04/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – A political meeting between representatives of the EU institutions is expected to be held on 13 February in Strasbourg to discuss the transparency register (see EUROPE 12105). The issue is the creation of a mandatory register (of lobbies) applicable to the three EU institutions. Negotiators in the European Parliament have scheduled meetings in the coming days to discuss the negotiations on the issue, taking into account the amendments to the Parliament's Rules of Procedure and the resulting new mandate (see EUROPE 12184). The Parliament is willing to “go through with these negotiations”, according to one source. The European Commission is expected to raise the transparency register issue at the meeting of the College of Commissioners on 12 February. (LC)
