European Parliament committee approves interinstitutional agreement on 'Western Waters' management plan

23/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 23 December in Brussels, the Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries approved the political agreement between the institutions on a multiannual plan for the management of fish stocks in Western Waters (see EUROPE 12148). The key target species, counting for around 95% of fish landings in the area, will be managed in line with the maximum sustainable yield principle (MSY).
