European Parliament calls for an end to suppression of dissidents, in particular Mehman Huseynov

On Thursday 17 January, the European Parliament called on Azerbaijan to put an end to the suppression of dissidents. 

The joint resolution of the Greens/EFA, EFDD, ECR, ALDE, S&D, EPP groups, adopted by 533 votes in favour, 28 against and 36 abstentions, therefore calls for the “immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners, including journalists, human rights activists and other civil society activists”.
