Concerned over the resumption of fighting in Tripoli, the EU calls for the ceasefire to be respected

17/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson for the European External Action Service expressed concerns on behalf of the European Union on Thursday 17 January as clashes between rival militias killed several people in Tripoli, despite the ceasefire agreed in September (see EUROPE 12089). “The resumption of fighting in Tripoli is a worrying breach of the ceasefire brokered by the United Nations in September and of the subsequent security arrangements.
