European Parliament validates new rules on emergency travel documents to be provided to Europeans in event of theft or loss abroad

On Wednesday 16 January, the European Parliament adopted the report by Kinga Gál (EPP, Hungary) by 600 votes to 35 with 6 abstentions, regarding new rules allowing people who lose their passports or are robbed when travelling outside the EU to obtain temporary documents from the consulate of a European Union Member State as soon as possible.
