European Parliament Committee ready to negotiate with Council on ‘Mediterranean’ management plan

The European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries reached a compromise on Thursday 10 January in Brussels on the multi-annual plan for the management of demersal stocks in the western Mediterranean (see EUROPE 12168, 12147). 

The report on this issue by Clara Eugenia Aguilera García (S&D, Spain) was adopted by the commission by 17 votes to 5, with one abstention. MEPs also gave a mandate to the rapporteur, Clara Eugenia Aguilera García, to negotiate with the Council concerning a political...
