EU Member States ready to negotiate with European Parliament on new rules tightening acquisition of explosive precursors

The permanent representatives of the EU Member States validated, as agreed on Wednesday 12 December, their mandate on the new draft regulation toughening the acquisition of chemical substances that can be used to manufacture explosives.

The European Parliament's Civil Liberties Committee had spoken on the subject earlier in the week (see EUROPE 12157).
