13/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Thursday 13 December that it had approved the application to include four German wine names in the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) register: ‘Monzinger Niederberg', ‘Uhlen Blaufüsser Lay', ‘Uhlen Laubach' and 'Uhlen Roth Lay'. The first wine comes from grape varieties grown around the town of Monzingen, in Rhineland-Palatinate in western Germany. The wines ‘Monzinger Niederberg', ‘Uhlen Blaufüsser Lay', ‘Uhlen Laubach' and 'Uhlen Roth Lay' are sparkling white wines from the Uhlen Laubach vineyards in the Winningen region, near Koblenz, also in Rhineland-Palatinate.
