Tensions in Sea of Azov, EU stands ready to step up its support for Ukraine

On Thursday 13 December, the European Council announced its ability to take measures to support Ukraine, in particular financial measures, in the context of the tensions in the Sea of Azov.

"The EU stands ready to adopt measures to further strengthen its support, in particular for the affected Ukrainian areas,” the leaders announced in their conclusions. “While the EU continues to follow the development in the Azov Sea, we will provide additional assistance to the affected regions,”...
