07/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 7 December, the European Commission approved a Dutch measure to support the transport of CO2 to greenhouses. Calculated at €3.8 million and in the form of a direct grant, the aim of this measure is to support the construction of an infrastructure used to transport waste CO2 to those greenhouses in need of such waste. It will also create a compressor station, which will increase the amount of waste that can be transported to the greenhouses in question, which now produce their own CO2. Noting that this measure would be beneficial for the environment – in particular by reducing the use of primary energy sources that produce CO2 – the Commission has deemed it compatible with the Guidelines on State aid for Environmental protection and Energy.
