22/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – The co-rapporteurs in the European Parliament, Constanze Krehl (S&D, Germany) and Andrey Novakov (EPP, Bulgaria), on the regulation on common provisions, the umbrella regulation for the European structural and investment funds, indicated on Wednesday 21 November in the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) that they were postponing committee’s vote until their session on 21 and 22 January. The reason for this postponement is the very large number of amendments to be analysed (2,181 amendments), in particular those relating to Article 15 establishing the link between the use of funds and economic governance. According to several sources, the chances of obtaining an interinstitutional agreement under the mandate of the current European Commission are becoming increasingly slim. (PH)
