07/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 10 September, European Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström will host US Trade Representative Robert Lightzier in Brussels (see EUROPE 12073, 12071). This will be the first political level meeting of the executive working group set up by Presidents Juncker and Trump, during which they will continue discussing the implementation of the joint statement, which launches a new phase in EU-US relations. The agreement hinges on the negotiation of a possible agreement on total tariff liberalisation for industrial goods (with the exception of cars) and on Europe's promise of imports of soybeans and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
