10/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 9 July, in response to news of the visit to Djibouti and Uganda to be made by Sudan’s President Omar Al Bashir, on 5-7 July, the EU regrets that neither of these two countries has arrested the Sudanese president. “The European Union and its member states regret that Djibouti and Uganda, both States parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), did not comply with their obligations under international law and (...) did not surrender President Al-Bashir to the Court”, says EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in a press release. The EU calls on all members of the United Nations to abide by and implement the resolutions adopted by the Security Council, notably UNSCR 1593 (2005), Mogherini says. (AN)
