10/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – During the first official visit to Brussels of the new secretary general for the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), Nasser Kamel, on Monday 9 July, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini reaffirmed "the support and commitment of the European Union to the Union for the Mediterranean". According to the European External Action Service, she "commended the UfM work in facilitating cooperation between all actors in the Mediterranean, including through holding (...) sectorial ministerial meetings on strategic topics for the region such as youth employment, (the) blue economy, transport and mobility, climate resilience and (the) digital economy". Mogherini and Kamel discussed preparations for the third UfM Regional Forum, to be held in Barcelona on 8 October. (CG)
