03/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Tuesday 3 July that two further names had been included in the register of protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI). They are both from France: PGI “Choucroute d'Alsace” and PDO “Cidre du Cotentin”. MEP Anne Sander (EPP, France) welcomed the protection accorded in the EU to the iconic Alsatian vegetable, prepared according to a traditional method of fermentation. (LC)
